How to Iron on Patches ?

Iron on patches are all the rage right now. Everyone is making them and let's be honest they are pretty rad. Here are some basic things you should know to get you started.

How to iron on patches?

Step 1: turn your hand iron all the way up to the highest temp setting. Do not use steam !
Step 2: Place your embroidered patch where you want it. Then place a cloth (we recommend an old shirt or pillowcase) on top.
Step 3: Press the iron down and hold for 35-45 seconds with as much constant pressure as possible. Don't move the iron around, hold it in place.
Step 4: Turn the garment inside-out and repeat steps 2 & 3.
Step 5: Allow the embroidered patch to cool off and you are good to go.

Can I wash my garment once I have patches on it ?

Once the patches are applied correctly they can be put in the wash. Just make sure to turn the garment inside out. Only use the gentle wash setting with cold water. We recomend hand washing and drying on a low setting just to be safe.

Can I iron on a patch to a leather jacket ?

In short, no you can not. It won't stay, the best thing to do is to sew it on. Don't want the hassle ? Check out your local tailors and see if they will do it for you, most places in our area will do it for $5 - $10. If you'd rather do it yourself you can also try Mighty Mendit, you can find it at your local walgreens, this stuff works. I wouldn't mess with fabric glues, we have tries a ton of them and they just don't last very long.

Where can you find cool iron on patches ?

There are tons of great shops but here are a couple of our favorites.
1.)  Forest Ink
2.)  Sugar Bones
3.)  La Barbuda
4.)  Hot Topic
